Job Summary:
The Customer Assistant (Cashier) is responsible for managing and processing electronic cash payments from water tanker drivers at designated filling stations. The role includes transaction handling, reporting, and occasional field tasks such as monitoring tanker activities and measuring vehicle volume. The position requires strong attention to detail, customer service skills, and adherence to site-specific operational procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Payment Processing:
- Receive payments via pre-paid cards from water tanker drivers.
- Operate E-Cash machines to scan and process payments.
- Issue manual receipts in case of E-Cash system malfunction.
- Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare daily trip reports and settlement sheets, including the number of transactions and total amounts received.
- Submit reports as per instructions from the assigned supervisor.
- Field Monitoring (as assigned):
- Monitor water tankers for any water wastage or traffic violations at the site.
- Report violations directly to the designated supervisor.
- Perform duties in outdoor environments, often under non-air-conditioned conditions.
- Additional Duties:
- Measure tanker dimensions to assist in issuing volume certificates.
- Support site staff with additional tasks as needed.
- Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety standards, regulations, and operating procedures set by the supervising authority.
Attend brief training provided prior to assignment.
Skills
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum of a Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in any relevant field.
- Advanced computer skills, including the ability to operate electronic systems and manage basic reporting tools.
- Basic understanding of electronic payment systems.
- Good numerical and reporting skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with customers.
- Willingness to work outdoors and perform physical tasks.
- Previous cashier or customer service experience is a plus.
- Ability to work under supervision and follow strict guidelines.
Work Conditions:
- Work involves both indoor and outdoor duties.
- Shifts are assigned on a daily basis as per operational requirements.
- Uniform and ID must be worn as per site guidelines.
